Never the kernel but just about every time I touch /etc/fstab I fuck something up. I’ve done that a lot…
At least control panel is better than “Settings” trying to find shit in that is hell.
If here is where the niche products are I’m happy to stay. I haven’t been able to upgrade my phone in almost a decade because they’re all catering to the mainstream now. Most people don’t care about doing anything cool with their devices.
The pro-linux developers just can’t stop designing things to their own specific needs and skillsets. No concept of designing & marketing for a wide audience.
You mean the wide audience that’s already catered to by every other tech company?
I tried rebooting it but that didn’t fix the problem. It’s a GE if anyone needs a brand to avoid.
So… just don’t let me use self cleaning… Why does the whole thing need to be bricked because the lock doesn’t work for a single function I’m not using? It doesn’t lock when you use it for baking.
So funny story. My stove is currently inoperable because the door lock on the oven is fucked up somehow. Why an oven needs a door lock and why the door lock being fucked should prevent the whole thing from working I cannot tell you. I’ve literally never used it. Thanks whoever programmed that…
IDK, my housemates printer required literally 0 setup to work with my linux VM and I’ve never had an issue. When I print from windows it’s a pain in the butt sometimes.
I use WSL for cli stuff and I have Mint running in a VM for desktop stuff. I briefly tried dual booting but it was a pain in the ass and I ended up rarely switching to the Linux partition in practice.
My job involves going out to sites to install equipment sometimes. This means as long as I’m walking out with a box in my hand I can leave whenever I want. My boss doesn’t care where I am as long as things get done.
I got paid to play factorio for 4 hours last week.
4 TB over my home network. 800GB download from a external server.
Interesting. I always figured the wires inside were all the same.
C-C carries more power than A-C?
I bought a charging pad once that had a USB c connector but none of the 40 USB power adapters I have have one so I returned it. IDK wtf they were thinking. Just make the wall end an A connector like everyone else has been doing for a decade.
I appreciate the fact that you went through your reasoning in such detail. Most of the time people are just like “use xxxx” with nothing more and comments like that are pretty worthless for someone with little familiarity with Linux.
