Maybe it hasn’t been fully implemented yet but when I play HDR videos in MPV right now it is still not working. But running that command works as expected.

Couldn’t you already do this using the command below? (Under “video”)
No hate, but I laughed out loud when I read distraction free and saw that the first screenshot shows an embedded browser.
Like, I get that there is value in having an embedded browser but if it’s there then I would not consider the editor to be distraction free.
I think it’s ctrl click for right click. Command click is for selecting multiple files.
Ctrl + click!
It was my first Mac and first computer that was just mine.
Boy I pushed that thing to the limits. Ended up frying the video card. While I loved it, it was just so so weak.
Rclone does what I want, for the most part.
If this works I would recommend yuihjknm, being mapped to 789456123 respectively, with space mapped to 0. That’s how I have it set up on my mechanical keyboard and it’s quite fast. I also recently mapped b to . which makes typing IP addresses quite a bit faster.
mpv FTW!
Thanks for the info. Sincerely did not know.
Since the mods deleted my post, I’ll repeat what I wrote, because aside from the unintentional racism, I feel like I made some valid points.
GPU accelerated terminal emulators are already quite popular and if you use alacrity, kitty, or wez, then you already use them. They can help with not only cool effects like smooth scrolling and transparency, but also with massive text files. Handling an 8gb text file is complicated, and using a GPU can help with that.
Ghostty’s selling points are not just the GPU acceleration, since that’s actually fairly standard nowadays. They are: (from their about page)
Ghostty is a terminal emulator that differentiates itself by being fast, feature-rich, and native. While there are many excellent terminal emulators available, they all force you to choose between speed, features, or native UIs. Ghostty provides all three.
I for one am very excited for this terminal and can’t wait to see what kind of development comes out of it!
That’s not what GPU acceleration is used for.

Do I have to enable HDR in Plasma settings? Because when I do, and then log out, plasma crashes and I have to log into a different DE and disable HDR in the terminal.
Does this mean I could finally enjoy HDR content on my OLED HDR monitor?
I guess I meant it’s a lot of work to set up initially. Especially if you don’t have experience.
I like the idea of deduplication and checksumming to prevent bit rot. It also sounds like backups via snapshots is extremely powerful, but maybe that’s something btrfs can do too.
Ultimately though it would be about learning. That’s what’s drawn me to Linux in the first place.
I don’t have experience with this because I use Google docs for simple documents and latex for anything serious, but it may help.

I wonder how this compares to DarkTable?
Makes sense. Thanks for the info!
