Do you mean by that that many apps are just website wrappers? Or did I get it wrong?
Indeed many apps tend to be that, at least many of my apps are open source at least and they tend not to have trackers and other bloat😅

Don’t DM me, find me on matrix instead

Even 10years ago, I considered having an app over around 40mb to be huge, but now 60mb is kind of the norm
As I said, the truth is I rushed it, I had upgraded to testing from stable and then tried to upgrade to sid, but it was a reciepe for disaster, lol.
Either way, I saw the dependency chaos happening, I was kinda uncertain which package was safe to upgrade (I had installed a debian package to mention buggy apps, but it confused me even more) or if the if any dependencies would change and cause a mess.
I then found nixos with its declarative nature which I found much less confusing and harder to break, so I spent around 4months testing it and then made the transition (this was the first time I was seriously considering transitioning to linux and I took my time to do it thoughtfully)😅
It’s kinda how I ended up with nixos
Wanted a stable and cool system, so went with debian stable.
But stable was outdated for my taste, so I went to testing.
But testing had missing packets, so I tried to update to unstable, though I did it badly and crashed my system.
After resinstalling testing, I tried to make a semi-failed script to autodownload/update apps outside the debian repo, but I found out that nixos essentially did this, in fact much better. And I accidentally deleted my /usr/bin/ dir with that script, so I eventually went with nixos unstable:)
Not helpful, but oops, I had accidentally disliked this post😅
I removed the dislike:)
Oh, I don’t use any autocorrect.😅 Does it have one? I know it has autofill, suggestions with dictionaries and spell check, but not sure if it has autocorrect.
I have all of these disabled (I only have the auto-capitalization after a period and auto period after double space).😄
Wait, are you on beta? I think they have gliding, but it is only for gestures, not typing.
Florisboard beta is what I use. Extremely customisable. I think the biggest things that lacks are custom background photo and text-gliding (I ~dont use any of these though).
I made it almost identical to the gboard theme I was using previously and it’s so cool.
If youre coming on Nixos, I have a lot of resources in the bookmarks section here: https://codeberg.org/BlastboomStrice/LinuxPlan/src/branch/main/LinuxPlan.md#nixos-bookmarks
(This was a guide I made for myself in the span of ~4months to transition to linux and I still update it some times.)
Funny how this was one of the first tools I learnt once I “seriously” started my linux journey, lol
Umm, I came across this post some time ago, it says some bad things about ventoy😅
I’d suggest Stirling PDF, just get the Stirling-PDF.jar
file from the releases. It does really lots of stuff (though I had some issues with creating pdfs with multiple pages per page). It open a port for the service to run locally and once you close it, it also closes the port.
I also use libre office draw (or firefox printing menu) to create pdfs with multiple pages per page.
There’s also xournal as some other people have mention that has some editing capabilities.
Yo, thanks for this
Here’s some extra input from me, in case ut helps your endeavour:

You might want to check motionmate and fastnfitness can be very powerful if you tinker with it enough or get ready configs from someone else, like me:)
If I remember well, Paseo tracks steps with a single hour precision, unlike motionmate that tracks steps at single day precision. While I was gonna switch, I figured that Paseo would stop counting at random invervals… Probably my Miui was shutting it down or something.
LETS GOOO
At least something good happened today
To not keep you waiting any further, I want to let you know I’ll probably not do that. Besides, I havent ever edited wikipedia.😅 I havent even tried the program yet. Thank you creating this, if I check the program in the future I’ll see what I can do.
(I suppose you have talked to the appropriate wikipedia mainteners, right?)
Also if anyone else sees this and adds it, please let us know.
I dont understand😅
I think the “launcher” part in the name is a bit misleading. I think it is as you describe it.
Oh thank you
For somw reason there was an option, but soon it was gone(??)
I think I did something wrong and the option to use umu through lutris disappeared, lol. I’ll have to tinker with them.
I had the same issue and I cant understand why…
I’m probably gonna end up using these (in layers)
wine-ge/umu-launcher -> bottles -> OpenGamepadUI
(I’m not very sure what umu launcher should do and if it replaces wine-ge)
Ohhh, I was talking about android apps😆
Hmm, I havent checked much how big computer applications are on average
