You can run Windows in vms on Linux if you don’t need screaming performance. I think you can directly install from iso with Incus as well. I haven’t find this yet, i used Qemu instead.

You could spin up a vm with mx and see how it works.
I only pick up the new LTS when the next non-LTS is released
I’ve been using Feeder https://f-droid.org/packages/com.nononsenseapps.feeder/ Works for my needs, but I haven’t explored much.
I have bazzite, it also includes graphics drivers ready to go which is nice. If you’re going to use steam for gaming i find it great. But this distro is not needed for gaming, one can install and game on any of the popular distros. You’re friend needs to try a few and see what feel best for them.

Wow really? I have tried to use Turbo tax and QuickBooks a few times with wine and no success. Maybe time for a revisit.

Yeah, i have an example of this. I spent since time today building a local copy of handbrake have it run in a distrobox of arch to get AMD hardware acceleration as an option. The flatpak version refused to do this. It wasn’t too bad, but still wild i did this.

Maybe Tiny 11 was the answer?

Same, I’m not gaming, but this distro for me that I find just working. I used Aurora for a bit before making the switch.

You mean convince more people to not buy android phones. Man we used to be able to run custom kernel code on the palm pre to try and get more performance out

$500 option
One vote for Debian.
I have a really hard time getting Aurora working the way all my other Linux devices so that are running some form of Ubuntu (Mate or Bodhi). With that said, it’s been very stable and i like not being interrupted with packages to install while working on things…
Mixed bag review. I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.
With Aurora, I was unable to get winehq working without installing it from a distrobox instead. I can now play SimTower on my Linux PC.
I have been playing with Incus recently.
