I feel ya there, friend. Haha.

Okay, so it’s likely to happen. I never disputed that. But just because the VP says he intends for it to happen still is not the same as a statement by the company that it will happen. He could get vetoed. He could lose his job. There could be a material shortage. Trademark disputes. A kraken could fly through his window and devour his testicles forcing him to be in the hospital on the exact day the paperwork has to be filed.
The fact remains this article is titled in a very clickbaity way because it jumps to the foregone conclusion that “want to do” = “will 100% happen”.
His goal.
A VP could have the goal to increase profits by 500% over the next 6 months but that doesn’t mean it’s gonna happen.
It might happen, but just because someone says it’s their goal is no confirmation that it will happen.
Oh that’s funny x3
It is totally valid that you are not. We all have our preferences. :)
With that being said, I don’t get the “BÄÄM” reference. Hehe.
Lol, I love me some James May saying “cheese”, but I was more referring to the old Futurama episode where Bender goes back to Mars University. One of his signature catchphrases in that episode is “Cheese it!”
Cheese it!
First, I appreciate you taking the time to provide your thoughts on this even though the post is 2 years old. :)
Second, no worries. I’ve found an option. I just use MakeMKV. I even bought a paid license! It’s that good! ;)
This is true, though I figured I’d mention it. ^^
I definitely have backups. And this explains it very well. Thank you. :)
Speaking as someone who doesn’t encrypt their desktop but is thinking about it:
you can’t share (readable) data over one’s home network if the sending PC is disk-encrypted?
For example, are you saying that if I send a video file from my PC, which is disk-encrypted, over LAN to my NAS, then the NAS would not be able to read said file?

Or just a pipe.
That is a good reason to backup
This is true.
but has nothing to do with encryption.
I disagree with this. If you forget the password for decrypting your drive, then you will have lost “anything on the drive that’s important”. I know because it happened to me long ago, and so now I too have been wary of disk encryption ever since then.
It is by no means just you. I really hate how everything has to be so flat and shadow-less nowadays. I’m not at the point of shaking my fist at clouds yet or anything, but I really miss skeuomorphism in general!
Rip.
I don’t understand the question. Could you elaborate please?
.........Touché.
