I’m a former Windows user, so I install activate-linux for similar experience.
Jerboa doesn’t have all the features, including searching for keywords. You can choose other app richer in features from here, or use web UI.
You can search lemmy for keyword email, and 99.99% of recommendations will be better than Gmail.
Linux was a mistake. Users were never meant to have full control of their operating system.
It’s mainly Linux enthusiasts who evangelize other people to use it. So if others don’t want to move to Linux, let them be.
Just install Arch, when You follow wiki it’s not that hard. if You will make mistakes during the process, You will gain better understanding of how things works while fixing errors.

You might have to enable showing apps with other anti-features in f-droid settings.
I find OM map visualization more appealing than Google Maps’. Former has more vibrant colours and much more details (thanks to OSM).
