For a 10% coupon, ssh into localhost and enter code sudo rm -rf /*
That sounds way more reasonable
That cant be true
I remember dual booting Ubuntu, I was on a Win insider build, and the button must have appeared around 2023
If you are not the Parent, the kid has going to have a hard time with Linux if you arent availible 24/7 for them to ask. Linux takes some getting used to, and if not even the Parents know anything about it, they are not going to be able to lock down Linux enough
Ok, let me rephrase this:
Your kid is too young to understand the concept of a mouse, but they arent young enough to not use Tiktok, a Social media known for killing even young adults attention time. And for some reason they are thought how to use a PC? To a 5-7 year old?
That aside, I recommend using literally Any OS and just making a guest user excluded from the sudoers file. To install new Apps, just use flatpak at user level, and for roblox theres Sober
If you like hyprland, use it. Just dont prompte it. Dont talk about it. Dont even mention it
SystemD is really bloated tho
I’m not saying we should all be using runit, but with systemD making more and more services only work through their init system just creates more vendor lock in
Like, who needs a cronjob alternative that only works if you use SystemD, limiting your software to people using it and locking out everyone needing a less bloated init system like runit? And who needs a systemD calendar?
It was for a long time.
I use that on Hyprland for a year or 2 now
Great if you are allergic to using anything that dosent adhere to the latest design style, I guess
But the last installer was more than enough.
Sorry, I thought of Capcut. That’s the newest thing in the tiktok generation of people, because you don’t need any braincells to use it.
It is also proprietary, only has a windows build, and a Garbage tier on WineHQ.
Shotcut does not work on Linux.
So, I cant watch the video right now
Is this like a shitpost, or one of these Clickbait Videos where someone tries to download linux and they just tripped some captcha system, so now they clickbait that to infinity?
Luffy@lemmy.mlOPto Linux@lemmy.ml•Can we please, PLEASE for gods sake just all agree that arch is not and will never be a good beginner distro no matter how many times you fork it?1528·3 months agoSteamOS falls into the category of about 2 arch forks that have a reason to exist.
I use graphene because I just like its way stricter security features, such as randomized numbers on the keypad when unlocking and it not having any Google services by default
But if you dont care about that and you would rather use MicroG (which is a little project that still runs at root access, but dosent send as much data to google) instead of G services just being sandboxed you can just as well use linaege
Also, linaege is a Team of volunteers that maintain many phones, as grapheneOS only makes Roms for the Google Pixel Series, so all their effort is towards the pixel phones. But as far as I know Graphene only maintains the Roms for phones that are still maintained by Google themselves, only giving a year or so extended support, but I dont know how long the Maintainer(s) that support the Pixels will maintain the Rom
Reminder that the Hyprland community is full of racist and anti lgbt fucks and no one should support them

I find cinnamon kind of useless
It just has this beige win 7 look, that is somehow both new and old at the same time. You dont have the Macros and Costumisation of Plasma, but you also dont have the rigidness and tablet-style interface of Gnome. You dont have the ressource friendlyness of xfce. The only thing it has is that it can both render qt and gtk in its own style, but xfce already does that with its very win xp like interface, which both qt and gtk have themes for
