“I set my house on fire damn why did my house burn down its the builders fault.”
Not only that, but it keeps getting re-shared every week like it’s breaking news.
Like, I get it’s exciting to see an European government giving the middle finger to a huge US multinational for once, but we need to move on. If anything, these examples should be given to pressure other governments to do the same.
Ah, interesting, that’s currently my approach. Hoped there was a better approach. Oh well!
Question, in what format do you save your documents for best compatibility, odt or docx (or another)?
Not all of us use older PC’s. I really don’t care what other people use but I like being on the latest version of whatever software I’m using
I stopped reading about here. I can already tell the rest is a “me, me, me!” ramble about how the world should appeal to you and you only.
Just don’t use Zorin, you’re not their target market.
Kind regards.
Why are you guys so obsessed with the latest packages? A lot of new stuff doesn’t work on older PCs which is also Linux’s target market.
I don’t know the details, but I hope they will at least remove the VPN and crypto wallet integrations from the default installed version.
You still have to double check for mistakes. But even that takes less time than writing a 3-4 sentences semi-formal email from scratch.
In any case, your emails aren’t safe either, mate. Even if you don’t use AI, the person on the other side most likely will and your emails will be scanned just the same. Nobody is safe. Which is why this Thunderbird feature doesn’t excite me in the least.
We probably never sent as many emails as we do today, and there are bigger priorities. Wanna blame someone, blame the overly pompous corporate world.
Have you tried talking to customer support? I hear they are quite responsive.
I 100% agree. Whenever these companies start with their own projects I immediately get suspicious that their goal is to enshittify down the line with vendor lock-in.
The only reasons why I’m seriously considering a Tuxedo are 1. European brand and 2. Double SSD.
Not a lot of laptops seem to be offering double SSD while being Linux compatible, so my hands are kinda tied.
Were you using it with their custom OS, or did you try to install something else like Linux Mint?
Oh, understood. Dumb me, lol.
So, aren’t there security risks associated with using Betterbird?
Aren’t you concerned that the development is in the hands of just one guy?
Are you me? Lol. Ever since I started bootinf Linux (through a standard speed pendrive, mind you) I barely boot into windows.
In fact, I’m pissed whenever I accidentally boot into windows because windows is too the automatic option when booting, haha. I foresee that changing very very soon.
Nice list. Why KMail over Thunderbird, I wonder?
What’s good to the user is what the user wants its device to do. Simple as.
Word. Unfortunately I cannot like Ubuntu for all of canonicals decisions, but there’s no doubt they have designed the most iconic Linux DE there is.
So much so that if someone who doesn’t use Linux thinks of Linux, they imagine Ubuntu.
