Looks neat and I’m already using adw-gtk3. Definitely will give it a try. Thanks!

Agreed. I tried pretty much every other alternative because Joplin’s UI seems a bit dated and I’m a sucker for eye candy. But in the end I came back to Joplin. It’s really good and the UI actually grows on me too. Not modern and flashy but also not ugly and it works well in practice.
I have never heard of anyone using aliases for anything but trivial one-liners. I don’t think people consider them as an alternative to scripts so I don’t really get the point of half of this post.
However, the part explaining the benefits of using scripts over aliases even for trivial one-liners is pretty neat.
Commenting mostly to make this post more active because I have very high hopes for COSMIC and really want it to succeed!

20·2 years agoWell, I actually enjoy code review, and I enjoy it on both ends. I learned A LOT thanks to insightful review by my teammates. And I like to pass that knowledge on to juniors when reviewing their code.

2·2 years agoI really liked it but unfortunately I was not able to get it to work on Wayland (with Hyprland) at all.
If you have to learn from scratch anyway I would consider caddy and traefik. I think those might be a bit more modern and user-friendly than nginx.

Open Source@lemmy.ml•Ente encrypted open source alternativ to Google Photos. Can be self hosted and supports S3 backend
6·2 years agoI recently migrated to their hosted plan and can highly recommend. It’s as close as you can get to Google Photos with E2EE right now.
I’ll stick with KeePassXC but I’m still very happy to see them remembering about Linux. I hope Drive will be next, this is something I’m really waiting for.
I’m using Hyprland for a long time now and somehow I completely missed the global hotkey support. Thanks!
