Their download page lists different payment tiers that include things like “Unlimited tracks” and “Z Series plugins”. I presume you get those features for a limited time with the trial.

On the other hand, I presume all those features are available to you perpetually if you build it yourself from source instead of installing from a prebuilt binary.

My guess is that they did not want to take credit as the developer of NewPipe itself. As if to say “We did not develop NewPipe, we just packaged it as a Flatpak”. There is probably a better way to get that across in the byline, but I believe that is the intent.

Not sure I would call that “active”. No activity in over a year. And even that was just changing a couple markdown files.

Not surprised you’re not finding Linux compatibility info. It looks like it was just announced. Logitech tends to not support Linux for their customization software, but I presume Solaar will add support for this device eventually.
