Debian. Unattended upgrades. Maybe flatpaks if your (GUI) stuff isn’t on debian

Eh vim can do anything vscode can do, so can emacs (and Emacs has both a vim mode and graphics!)

I just use miniflux, self hosted is easy if you have docker-compose and you could access it from your browser locally. It also works great on mobile.
It’s Debian. It’s well-supported by software and super stable and open.
