Actually yeah, those are.
Why PPAs instead of repos? Why…
Sounds like interpersonal conflict. Always sucks to see a productive dev quit though.

deathbird@mander.xyzto Linux@lemmy.ml•Debian is Ditching X (Twitter) Citing These Reasons11·4 months agoYeah I’m aware that it means “emotional safey” the way they’re using it. But they’re still being hyperbolic, because emotional safety in the context of opinions on the Internet is just not meaningful. In a relationship one can speak of emotional safety in context of emotional manipulation or violence, but on a microblogging platform? The axiom of Tyler the Creator still applies, and we’re not even talking about targeted harassment.
I don’t see the source either. Fair cop.
deathbird@mander.xyzto Linux@lemmy.ml•Debian is Ditching X (Twitter) Citing These Reasons14·4 months agoThe “safety” thing is a bit hyperbolic. I wish they’d just say “the quality of the interactions is going down” or “poor moderation” or something else a little more honest.
Twitter is a shitty platform in structure, format, and moderation. I’m glad Debian’s not on it. But I am disappointed in them for using hyperbolic rhetoric.

XP.
Windows was getting to be too much trouble to 🏴☠️, Vista didn’t look that great, I couldn’t afford to upgrade my hardware to accommodate the bloat, and desktop Linux was a lot more mature and ready to go out of the box.

I think it’s rash to judge the tone of his writing like that. It can be a struggle to identify and admit one’s flaws, and it’s certainly a struggle for most people of the modern era to write elegantly with only pen and a few sheets of paper.
