Have you tried something like input-remapper to map your volume buttons when the keyboard is detected?
Bash or ZSH. Whatever is default.
Does this affect Fedora?

symlinked to/etc/containers/systemd
with my .container files. I use
sudo podman auto-update
to update the images to utilize theAutoUpdate=registry
option.
