Just don’t forget to check if your IP has changed if ssh suddenly starts timing out with no error indication no matter what you do and oh god what is actually wrong
I think there’s a way to setup an alert for this.
Oh that’s dastardly
OpenSnitch, do your thing!
Wow good job sticking through that. Honestly it sounds like you went through a bit of a trial by fire for a first setup. I’m not sure I would have had the patience, but happy you made it to the other side!
It’s a casual English language construction of the 90s. It’s equivalent to “FF is evil?” And implies that the writer believes that it didn’t used to be.
I would, however, recommend Arch if you’re a Linux novice looking to learn about Linux in a more accelerated pace.
Whoa, this looks really good. I love how using the pressing shortcut keys shows you available combinations. Reminds me of the “guided keystrokes” (I think this is what the mechanic is called?) feature of the blezz launcher.
As a filthy vim hipster, this is really speaking to me…
I realise they’re different technologies, but for how I use them 90% of the time (launching shells in visually distinct areas of my screen), kitty’s window system is a drop-in replacement.
God I hope I live to see the day. Discord at first appears like a good IRC wrapper, but the XP of actually using it is fucking gross.
Welcome!
Don’t be afraid to experiment relentlessly. Even if you break your OS, that’s just more experience fixing or reinstalling it. Also back up your important files locally and remotely.
Rock on! Look at us, contributing to the tools we use
That’s what I love so much about open source. Currently have a fork of kiTTY going, working on tracking down a little bug I found in my daily use.
I’m still sore that column -nts,
doesn’t work anymore. My mnemonic for remembering it was “unts, unts, unts” like a dance club beat.
Actually looking at the usage text I’m not sure how the -n
flag ever worked for me… Maybe I’m misremembering.
Why don’t you tell me some more about what you like about Fossil… I’m assuming you’ve used other version control systems - how would you compare the feeling of actually using it in a collaborative workflow? How did you even come across Fossil in the first place?
This is my first time hearing about it, so would love to hear more straight from an actual user.
Maybe if you escaped the command like
\\type sudo
?
