4·11 months agowhat happened to op is pretty common if you stop reviewing your updates one by one for a week or two
This is just not true. Its pretty rare that you have to manually intervene when updating.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Realizing Arch isn't for me after updating broke VLC
41·11 months agoWhat does this even mean? I had more problems with Fedora on my Notebook in the last few months (wouldn’t randomly boot anymore?!) than I had with Arch Linux in 10 years.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Ghostty in review: how's the new terminal emulator?
3·1 year agoOh, yeah. If it’s your primary work environment I can see how you could use such features. I use the terminal maybe 1-2 per day, so it’s not a priority for me. Thanks for clarifying!

Linux@lemmy.ml•Ghostty in review: how's the new terminal emulator?
15·1 year agoIs it crazy that I just use the default provided terminal emulator (Fedora/Gnome)? Why would I use something like this?
I do this too. Folders in the bookmarks toolbar. If I’m not done with a topic I just drag-and-drop these tabs into a folder. If you middle click one of these folders every bookmarks opens in a new tab for quick access.
I think Bitlocker isn’t even supported on Windows 11 Home. I was shocked when I wanted to set up disk encryption on my wife’s notebook.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Introducing TVHplayer, a free, cross-platform client for TVheadend
1·2 years agoMaybe, if your hardware is supported in linux. I use tvheadend with a PCI and a USB DVB-S (Satellite) receiver.
Also, I never saw anyone saying anything about a “year of the Linux Desktop”. It’s just a meme.
Huh, that was my first thougth. Why is /home/ configured in systemd-tmpfiles? Seems strange for me.
Thanks, that’s much easier to read. :)
The thing with Incus is that you get the image repository and manager and the permissions applied to containers make them isolated and secure environments by default running on another user etc etc
This is really hard to read.

To make it easier for people.
I think the reason for this is mainly historic.
