I get the itch every now and again but the fact that I can’t just install it and play is enough to keep me away.
I’m used to debian, it was the first on the list of distros I downloaded to try and it worked right away, so I kept it. Overall, Pop Os is unintrusive and works, so it’s perfect for me.
Do the programs you develop run on wine? It could be an option while developing, but either way you’ll have to QA it on windows at some point.
Why do we like to pretend waterfall is this great old way to do stuff that had no problems at all?
At this point if it changed it would be weird.
The very generic message makes me inclined to think so too
Let’s be honest here, they only care because when someone inevitably fucks up, people will think the fault is with windows.
It’s true that a big slice of gamers play games with anti-cheat solutions that don’t work on linux. That said most of those aren’t even on steam, which is the biggest pc game marketplace, so I’m not sure it’s that big of a dealbreaker for that many people.
If Twitter is any indication, Discord would have to fuck up big, and for a long time for people to switch.
One aspect I feel is never talked about is that setting up the debugging more often than not takes you out of the mental space of the problem you are trying to solve. A console log is basically there already in many cases.
I mean the author has simply ignored this issue. If you look into it there are a few that people simply do not know how to generate, so without the maintainer it’s impossible to make a PR solving this.
I wish more people understood this: Riot’s anti-cheat isn’t perfect and you can find how to cheat online fairly easily actually, but you have to jump over so many hoops and spend a fair amount of cash to do it (depending on method) that it’s basically an exercise for motivated hackers that want to prove a point, not your script kiddie that wants easy wins.
Considering you play a lot of simulation and strategy games, the CPU you pick will probably influence your experience a lot more than usual. This chart can give you an idea of how they stack.
I will say, other than Civ7, you’ll probably have a good time with whatever build people have linked here.
