vaionko@sopuli.xyzto Linux@lemmy.ml•Yo, I found this for 380$ should I buy it and how well does Linux run on it, if you have one of this is it a good in term of build quality1·8 months agoFor CPUs it’s pretty bad. It says the Intel i3-9100f (4 core, 4 thread 3.6GHz) is just as good as the AMD Ryzen 7 3700x (8 core, 16 thread 3.6GHz) even though the actual difference is massive.
I study in a technical university in the west. Apart from my own laptop, I’ve only spotted one Linux computer, which was an IT student’s laptop. Though I don’t study IT myself

Ventoy with every ISO I’ve needed to install, and Snappy Driver Installer Origin with its full set of drivers.
They’re not very locked down. Even the apple silicon stuff allows other operating systems, apple just doesn’t tell how to make them work.

vaionko@sopuli.xyzOPto Linux@lemmy.ml•Where does the computer branding in KDE settings come from?4·1 year agokinfo doesn’t show it but it does show in kinfocenter. It shows up in dmidecode -t 1 also.
vaionko@sopuli.xyzOPto Linux@lemmy.ml•Where does the computer branding in KDE settings come from?2·1 year agoI did buy it used yes. That’s interesting, I wonder if I can change that or did they order the boards from ASUS with their branding
It literally has a picture of arm wrestling on there. I think it’s on purpose.
No. That removes everything in the root filesystem. Very different from a “folder called root”. The correct command would be
rm -r root
I had python problems on Fedora and Nvidia. In addition to installing python 3.10, I needed to change the python command in webui.sh from python to python3.10
Cool! Though I’ll probably still use krunner for this
