A new community-led initiative called “EU OS” to develop a Linux distribution initiative looks like a positive development. It is specifically created to address the unique requirements of the European Union’s (EU) public sector organizations. For me, this initiative stands out for its commitment to the EU’s digital sovereignty, reducing reliance on external vendors, and creating a secure, independent digital ecosystem.

If you wanted an actual European OS lawmakes should go to SUSE and get something done with them.

Again with this? It’s only a click bait from an Indian website that specialises in recycling news and tutorials.

Ye, that shit is everywhere, also gaming indian sites that recycle and produce AI slop are popping everywhere like mushrooms. Perhaps the dead internet theory is closer than expected.

In 2004, Munich, Germany led the creation of LiMux and switched the city to that from Windows.

In 2017 they reverted to Windows.

In 2020 they re-asserted the intent to switch to open source.

    What’s old is new again.
